A wide range of people enjoy volunteering in Hammock Park. There is something for everyone to do. Opportunities range from maintaining the butterfly garden to removing invasive species to helping with outreach and education events. Volunteers come from schools, camps, scout troops, universities, and local non-profits. Let us know if you are interested.

What does Friends of the Hammock do?

  • Support the maintenance and preservation of the park by volunteering in the park and continual learning
  • Create educational benefits for the community through a variety of channels including events in the park
  • Serves as a conduit of communication with the City of Dunedin and other organizations
  • Organizes annual meeting, nature walks, education events
  • Communicates information via website, electronic newsletter, and social media sites

Become a Board Member

Do you love the park? Do you have a passion for nature? We are looking for new board members willing to:

  • Serve as park ambassadors
  • Donate one to two hours a month
  • Share their skill set (marketing, fundraising, education, volunteering, website)
  • Support the mission

Celebrating 40 Years

In 1994, the Friends of the Hammock, Inc. was established to help preserve the natural state of the park for future generations. Through the generous involvement from valuable volunteers and supporters, the Friends of the Hammock can continue to maintain education and awareness in our community of the natural treasure of this unique park.
